School garden advocates Doreen Petri and Stephanie Ciner in partnership with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners have created a Farm to School program in Erie’s public schools. They will highlight the variety of programs offered, the impact on students, teachers, and families, and the ways in which gardening serves as a teaching tool.

There are many successful ways to compost.  What process works best for you?  What do you put into compost and what do you put compost in? Enjoy a slide show presentation and discussion about how to start a compost project or improve the one you are already working on.

Erie is not alone in their glass recycling woes. Nick Bruno and John Nowakowski, co-owners of Bayfront Glass, LLC will present the main issues of why glass recycling in the US has become problematic. They will discuss local solutions elsewhere in the US as well as the Bayfront Glass model, and what you can do to be part of the solution.
